Zippered fins is a series of copper or aluminum fins stamped into designed shape by using copper or aluminum foil 0.2~0.6mm and connected together. In application, zippered fins are soldered onto heatpipe, copper or aluminum base plate, through which the heat is conducted from heat source to zippered fins for transfer. Zippered fins enjoys the advantage of much more surface area for heat dissipation than other fins, but requires much higher tooling cost input.
